Hormone Replacement Therapy and HGH
What is HRT?
Hormone replacement therapy, or HRT for short, is a therapy designed to boost the levels of hormones in the body when they are at levels lower than normal, or if low HGH is severe enough to cause adverse symptoms. Hormones, which are natural chemicals produced within the body, control the growth and maintenance of various organs and tissues. When we age, hormone levels decline, especially during certain life stages such as menopause in the cause of women.
It used to be very commonplace for women in menopause to take HRT to replenish low levels of estrogen and progesterone, the two main female hormones. Estrogen's main function is to grow the layer of tissue within the uterus every month, but also has important functions in maintaining circulatory health and bone density. Progesterone also assists with the thickening of the lining of the uterus. HRT used during menopause can help reduce the occurrence of hot flashes, mood swings, and vaginal dryness and prevent the thinning of bones.
HRT is not as common for menopausal women any more, as several studies have linked the use of HRT with an increased risk of certain diseases and conditions, including breast cancer. While HRT usually refers to the replacement of estrogen and progesterone in menopausal women, there are other less common types of HRT, such as human growth hormone (HGH) HRT and testosterone HRT. How HGH Affects Aging and Hormones
Human growth hormone, also known as HGH, is a type of hormone that is produced in the pituitary gland at the base of our brain. As we age, our pituitary gland naturally releases less and less GHG, so that by early middle age, many people are deficient in levels of HGH. Since low levels of HGH are linked with many unpleasant conditions like low energy, reduced muscle mass, and sleep problems, HGH supplementation has become an area of interest for many recent medical research studies.
Replacing HGH
Recent research has shown promising results about the use of HGH supplementation and the beneficial effects of reversing many of the symptoms that are associated with the aging process. When used as recommended, HGH supplements have been shown to help increase lean muscle tissue, inhibit the development of fat, maintain optimal levels of insulin, promote more restful sleep, and several other beneficial effects.
The first studies of HGH supplementation focused on patients receiving regular injections of HGH, sometimes even on a daily basis. While results were promising, the expense and pain of frequent HGH injections turned out to be prohibitive for many people who were interested in HGH. HGH was then made available in the form of an oral spray product, but research has discovered that HGH molecules are not effectively transmitted in this form.
Luckily, HGH supplements are now readily available as an easy-to-swallow pill. This option, which is also much more affordable than previous HGH vehicles, has paved the way for more widespread use of HGH and an effective way for more people to realize the benefits of HGH.
